When is such a test conducted ?

A DNA-paternity test is carried out when there is doubt as to who the father of someone is, and when it should be determined by scientific means. Typical situations in which a paternity test might be carried out:

  • to clarify the paternity of a child, when there is personal doubt

  • on acknowledgement of paternity

  • in disputes over paternity, out of court or in court

  • to determine relationships of relatives through sibling tests and family tree analysis

  • in estate issues, where the lineage is uncertain

The uncomplicated determination of paternity is a fast way to come to an agreement in custody questions. This avoids expensive custody battles in court.
